DYNAMIC ORTHODOXY

CCC Is a fusion of Cathedral, a touch of Smithsonian, and College Campus—in other words, the integration of the sacred, the institutional, and the intellectual to create a dynamic worship and spiritual growth experience.

SACRED

The worship space at CCC is vibrant, modern and aesthetically energizing. The worship experience is dynamic yet reverential, relevant yet true to the orthodoxy of the Christian faith. The campus is a "third place" where people find community apart from work and home. In this "third space" people are welcomed into a life of spiritual growth and personal mission.

INSTITUTIONAL

In partnership with Seminaries and Cultural Institutions CCC has a gallery that displays original and ancient Biblical literature, manuscripts and artifacts making it a cultural as well as spiritual destination. With a clear vision, mission and organizational philosophy, structure and programs, CCC is a model of order, consistency, spiritual growth and stability.

INTELLECTUAL

CCC's vision is, of the church, as a learning center. Besides its Spiritual Life Institute and Center for Biblical Studies, every Sunday the sanctuary is converted into a college classroom where spiritual seekers, novice and mature Christians of all ages can experience constant renewal of spirit, mind and body.

History

Christian Cultural Center began as a small parish in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York in 1978. Our present Senior Pastor, Rev. A. R. Bernard, left a ten year banking career, to follow the call of God on his life to full time ministry to become the founding Pastor. With his wife Karen Bernard at his side the church began with a small membership, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and reaching out to its local community in Brooklyn.

The Lord Jesus Christ has taken the church through many stages of growth and development, over the years. Today CCC stands not only as a premier spiritual institution, in New York City and around the world, but as a unique model of Christian Ministry.

A. R. Bernard served as President of the Council of Churches of the City of New York representing 1.5 million Protestants, Anglicans and Orthodox Christians. He has a Master of Urban Studies and a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary. He has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Wagner College, May, 2010, and an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Nyack College/Alliance Theological Seminary, May 2009.

Karen Bernard left a career in Queens County Supreme Court to raise 7 sons and co-pastor with her husband. Together they have successfully experienced many years of ministry. Today Christian Cultural center sits on a 11.5 acre campus with a registered membership of over 32,000.

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated on the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.

He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
